Today VISIBLE Magazine published the first op-ed I wrote as a Public Voice Fellows with The OpEd Project

The piece is called We're Failling to Protect Disabled Kids. Here's How to Change That. Disabled kids experience abuse at a far higher rate than their non-disabled peers, the piece builds awareness regarding this counterintuitive, heartbreaking reality and offers steps toward change. You can read it here

Giant thanks to Veronica Rueckert, my Public Voices Fellowship Coach, for her patient, insightful guidance through this new-to-me process!

October 2022

I presented a paper entitled Anti-ableist teaching strategies and disablity life photography at 'Currents', the Midwest Society for Photographic Education's October 2022 Chapter Conference in Cincinnati.

The paper was published with small edits on the Hampton Institute's Hampton Think website on November 5, 2022

In late October I presented a paper entitled You make me sick: Notes from a crip photo prof. at SECAC in Baltimore as part of the 'Making Academic Accessible' panel discussion.

Thank you to all the folks making spaces to foreground conversations and ideas about ability, belonging, and equity.
